Job Title: Quality Engineer

Purpose and Scope:
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for the execution of quality management projects within GTC, as well as the monitoring of internal process to ensure product conformity.
Organization Relationships:
The Quality Engineer will report directly to the Quality Manager. This position will support the Quality Team within Garrity Tool Company.
The Quality Engineer shall be responsible for the following:
Drive processes improvements in component manufacturing.
Complete statistical process control projects using Minitab.
Conduct gage R and R studies.
Validate manufacturing processes.
Manage internal and supplier audits.
Conducting Root Cause/Corrective Action investigations
Work with the quality manager on maintaining the GTC quality management system.
Review process specifications and drawings to help develop quality plans for manufacturing.
Work with production personnel to document new processes and drive efforts at reducing quality problems.
Perform dimensional inspection utilizing hard gaging and CMM equipment as needed.
Work within the guidelines of applicable GTC Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards, Product Definition Operating Procedures, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards and requirements.
Evaluate and influence new and revised Processes, Engineering Standards and Product Definition Operating Procedures.

The Quality Engineer should have 5 years of similar experience in a manufacturing environment. Computer skills including modeling software, conflict resolution, time management and experience with Microsoft Office Software are required. The Quality Engineer will work in a teaming environment with all departments within GTC and must have excellent communication skills both orally and in writing. These skills may be achieved either thru on the job experience or through formal training.
