Overview
Prairie View Golf Club is a premier public facility located in Hamilton County and is the only Robert Trent Jones, Jr. golf course in Indiana. Managed by Cohoat & O’Neal Management Co., Prairie View is consistently ranked as one of the top golf courses in the state. Prairie View has been the host site for many of Indiana’s biggest golf championships and in 2018, the Club will host the IHSAA Boys & Girls High School State Tournament, Indiana Open, as well as many premier golf outings. Along with the award winning golf course, Prairie View has a 8,000 square foot clubhouse complete with dining and banquet facilities, a full service golf shop, and the Golf School of Indiana at The Ackerman Academy, which houses 5 heated hitting bays, an indoor putting green, and complete club-fitting and club repair department. The club will host approximately 27,000 rounds, which are comprised of play from the public, annual members’ rounds, and golf outings.

Experience Required
PGA Class A Preferred or at minimum Apprentice entered in the PGM Program (motivated to become a PGA Member and Head Golf Professional)

Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations.
Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees
Commitment to delivering a superior golf experience
Strong Verbal/Written Communication Skills
Deliver high levels of customer service
Believes in the team concept with all club operations, promotes cooperation, and can see the overall picture
Proficient computer abilities such as Microsoft Word, Excel, internet, email, and golf specific software applications.
Participate in continuing education in all areas of the golf business.
Willingness to learn.
Maintain golf playing ability and up to date on teaching practices.

Essential Responsibilities
The Assistant Golf Professional will serve as assistant to the PGA Head Golf Professional in the management of the golf operations and staff. The assistant will manage and coordinate the tournament and outing schedule, assist with the management of the golf operation to ensure budget is met, assist with the Merchandise Plan and management of the retail operation, give golf lessons and clinics for customers, run the PGA Junior League program, assist with all league activities and golf outings, oversee the tee sheet to ensure play is maximized, and assist in any other areas as needed.
