Under the direction of the school leader, the special education coordinator plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students with disabilities in accordance with a studentA?s Individual Education Program (IEP). The person in this position is responsible for creating a flexible program and learning environment that provides specialized instruction for students with disabilities, such that the students benefit from the general education curriculum to the greatest extent possible when supported with supplemental aides, accommodations, and other needed supports.This role demonstrates behaviors consistent with our Mission, Vision and Values, on behalf of Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana Responsibilities Provide coordination for special education services including development of IEPA?s, and coordination of referrals to outside resourcesAccommodate the general education curriculum for students with disabilities based on upon a variety of instructional techniques and technologiesMaintain accurate and compliant student records and prepare documentation as required by lawHold the case conference committee meetings to assist in developing measurable goals, benchmarks, and objectives to meet studentA?s needsRegularly monitor the implementation of the studentA?s IEP and provides progress reports to the student and/or familyDevelop compliant and comprehensive transition plansClearly communicate students IEP accommodations to general education staffEnsure any needed accommodations and modifications on district, statewide, and national assessments are implemented according to the studentA?s IEPBachelorA?s Degree in Special Education; Licensed in special education:mild and/or intense certification requiredExperience using IIEP; preferredDemonstrates an understanding of federal, state, and local mandates governing the determination and delivery of special education servicesExperience completing observations and reports pertaining to learning behaviors of studentsMust be able to successfully pass a background checkFull:time employees may participate in a comprehensive benefits program that includes:Continuing education and leadership developmentComprehensive health planPaid time off (PTO)Life, dental and vision insuranceShort: and long:term disability plansNationally recognized preventive health and wellness programSection 125 pre:tax health spending account, dependent care spending account and premiumsRetirement plan with generous match or contribution into TeachersA?
