Assistant or Associate Professor of Anatomy

Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MU-COM) seeks a tenure-track anatomy faculty member at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will join the anatomy faculty in teaching a clinical and dissection-based medical anatomy course, as well as clinically-focused anatomic content within the COM’s integrated systems-based courses.


  • Teach clinical anatomy and embryology in lectures, small group sessions, and case-based instructional activities in the medical curriculum.
  • Join the anatomy instructional team to lead dissection/laboratory sessions.
  • Participate in curriculum development and build innovative educational programs as part of the COM’s ongoing quality improvement.
  • Participate in anatomy-related service activities.
  • Provide service to the COM and University community.
  • Collaborate with COM faculty on scholarship, grants, and other pursuits.
  • Participate in research relevant to the candidate’s area of expertise
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean or his designee.


  • PhD in Anatomy, Anthropology, or equivalent terminal degree
  • Teaching experience in a medical-level, clinically-oriented gross anatomy laboratory
  • Experience serving as a course director preferred
  • Ability to teach neuro-anatomy and/or histology preferred
  • An interest in morphological research or interests complementing the current anatomy faculty considered a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communiation skills and be able to effectively communicate with students, faculty, and staff
