Billing Specialist SUMMARY Responsible for the Contract Billing Department with emphasis on the accurate timing and setup of all equipment software and services contracts Facilitates customer and branch relations Provides leadership to the Department ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following Other duties may be assigned Ensures all department responsibilities are complete before deadlines Communicates with corporate departments and branch locations to share information Prepares and prints invoices Troubleshoots and reviews all general Contract Billing Processes Processes and bills base meter contracts Sets up and maintains detail of contracts Conducts audit and review of all paperwork included in a sale Responds to customer phone calls questioning contract or invoices internal and external customers Reviews contract information not supported by computer system Enters meter reads into computer system Credits invoices generated in the Contract Billing Department Audits accounting functions stored in Contract Billing Reviews auditing reports Facilitates meetings and presentations COMPETENCIES To perform the job successfully an individual should demonstrate the following competencies Synthesizes complex or diverse information Collects and researches data Uses intuition and experience to complement data Designs work flows and procedures Demonstrates attention to detail Manages difficult or emotional customer situations Responds promptly to customer needs Solicits customer feedback to improve service Responds to requests for service and assistance Meets commitments Balances team and individual responsibilities Exhibits objectivity and openness to others views Looks for ways to improve and promote quality Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness Understands business implications of decisions Displays orientation to profitability Demonstrates knowledge of market and competition Aligns work with strategic goals Treats people with respect and dignity Keeps commitments Inspires the trust of others Works with integrity and ethically Upholds organizational values QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and or ability required Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions EDUCATION EXPERIENCE Bachelor s degree BA from four year College or university or one to two years related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals financial reports and legal documents Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers regulatory agencies or members of the business community Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format Ability to effectively present information to top management public groups and or boards of directors MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Intermediate Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry REASONING ABILITY High Skills Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form COMPUTER SKILLS To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of spreadsheet software word processing software and Windows operating System PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit use hands to finger handle or feel and talk or hear The employee is occasionally required to walk WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions While performing the duties of this Job the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
